NEW YORK (AP) — When New York Mets young ace Matt Harvey looks in for the signs from catcher John Buck he will see pink.

Buck will wear pink reflective stickers on his fingernails Sunday to honor breast cancer survivors on Mother’s Day.

Catchers often paint their fingernails white to make it easier to decipher the signals they are giving for a particular pitch. Buck prefers the stickers from Game Signs because they have a reflective quality that paint — and correction fluid — lacks. He usually wears white ones, though.

Players around the major leagues will be donning all sorts of pink paraphernalia Sunday, including cleats, wrist bands and necklaces. Many players will also use pink bats.
