A health fair will be part of the kickoff events scheduled for the opening of the sixth annual Camas Farmer’s Market June 12.

The farmer’s market — featuring produce, flowers, pasteurized meat, eggs and prepared foods — will be open from 3-7 p.m. every Wednesday in front of the Camas City Library. The season ends on Oct. 9.

Representatives from the Washington State University Extension Office will be on hand to answer gardening questions again this year. A booth especially for kids will teach gardening, nutrition and farming.

“It’s so exciting to see how much the market has grown over the last five years to the established community event that it has become,” said Shannon Van Horn, the market’s president.
