Letter: Reuse and help save our planet

I am in fourth grade. I think Vancouver should ban plastic bags from checkout counters. I think this because:

  1. It creates a lot of pollution to make the bags.

  2. It hurts the environment.

  3. Animals eat plastic bags and die.

Also, plastic bags don’t go away. They sit there and never decompose into the ground. There are holes in the ozone layer; one cause is by making plastic.

Finally, plastic bags are made of oil. We should save plastic for things we need. If we all bring in reusable bags and stop using plastic bags, we can save our planet, one city at a time.
