RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Richmond coach Chris Mooney says T.J. Cline is transferring to the Spiders from Niagara.

Cline is a 6-foot-8 forward and the son of Naismith Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman. The native of West Plano, Texas, earned all-rookie honors as freshman in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference last season, averaging 7.9 points and 4.6 rebounds in 20 minutes per game. He also made 40 3-pointers.

He will sit out the upcoming season and have three years of eligibility remaining.

Mooney says Cline fits the Spiders’ system well as “a versatile player who shoots and passes the ball extremely well.”
