PORTLAND — Law enforcement agencies across Oregon are taking part in the “click it or ticket” seat belt enforcement campaign through June 2.
The Multnomah County sheriff’s office says deputies will be paying extra attention to child passengers to make sure they are properly restrained. They’ll also be checking passengers in pickup trucks. Of the 61 fatalities related to unrestrained passengers last year, 49 were riding in pickups.
The minimum fine for anyone cited for failing to use a seat belt in Oregon is $110.
