Lecture series offers advice for health concerns

A new session of Oregon Health & Science University’s “Ask the Health Experts” seminar series is up and running.

Upcoming lectures will feature specialists in fertility, stroke care, and bone and joint care. Lectures are followed with a question-and-answer session with the experts.

All lectures are free and open to the public. Events take place at OHSU’s Center for Health and Healing, 3303 S.W. Bond Ave. in Portland.

Here’s the schedule:

  • Fertility Open House — 6 p.m. June 13, July 11 and Aug. 8 on the center’s 10th floor. Fertility experts discuss range of services offered at OHSU.

  • Basic stroke signs, symptoms, early intervention and treatment — 7 p.m. June 5 on the center’s third floor. Drs. Wayne Clark and Justin Cetas talk about basic stroke signs, early intervention and the latest treatment options.

  • Promoting neural repair: advances in stroke rehabilitation — 7 p.m. June 11 on the center’s third floor. Experts Andrea Serdar and Sabine Kaul-Connolly discuss research on the ability of the brain to rewire and repair.

  • Conservative management approach to knee and hip arthritis — 7 p.m. June 12 on the center’s third floor. Dr. Nels Carlson discusses new research advances and noninvasive options for treating knee and hip arthritis.
