CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Panthers announced they’ve signed first-round draft pick Star Lotulelei and third-round selection Edmund Kugbila. With the signings, Carolina’s top three picks are now under contract.

Financial terms of the deals signed Thursday were not released.

Carolina previously announced the signing of second round pick Kawann Short, a defensive tackle from Purdue, on Wednesday.

Lotulelei, the 14th overall pick in the draft out of Utah, is expected to step in and start right away at defensive tackle alongside veteran Dwan Edwards. Kugbila, from Valdosta State, was the 108th overall pick and is expected to compete for a starting spot at right guard with veteran Geoff Hangartner.

The Panthers also say they’ve claimed linebacker Ryan Rau off waivers from the Cleveland Browns and waived injured tight end Logan Brock.
