A friend recently suggested I check out a television series on A&E, “Bates Motel.” It’s a prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 thriller “Psycho.” Usually not a fan of such fare, I nonetheless recorded several episodes and became strangely fascinated anticipating the train wreck, which I knew would soon be coming.
I finally figured out why. The show chronicles the enabling if not incestuous relationship between the psychotic young Norman and his doting mother, Norma.
In this way, it turns out to be an apt metaphor for the unconditional devotion bestowed upon President Obama and his fellow Democrat Party radicals by America’s overwhelmingly liberal media.
Whether you watch the “Bates Motel” or not, it might be wise to buckle up for the ride.
