Correction: Skagit Load

The Columbian
Published: May 27, 2013, 5:00pm

Skagit load: Tom Hunt, a spokesman for Thompson Metal Fab, said the load that struck the Interstate 5 bridge across the Skagit River and caused it to fail was bound for Thompson’s yard at the Columbia Business Center, upstream of the Interstate 5 Bridge across the Columbia River. However, he said it was a customer of Thompson’s, not Thompson itself, that was preparing to barge equipment to an oil-drilling customer on the Kenai Peninsula, and that the piece on the truck was to be added to the load on that barge. The plan was described incorrectly in a Page A1 story Saturday.
