Galaxy to open summer tournament with Real Madrid

MIAMI (AP) — Real Madrid will face the MLS champion Los Angeles Galaxy in one of four opening-round matches of this summer’s inaugural International Champions Cup.

The tournament bracket was released Wednesday. AC Milan will play at Valencia to open the eight-team event on July 27, with the rest of the matches to take place in the United States.

Juventus and Everton will play July 31 at San Francisco. The other two first-round games are Aug. 1, with Real Madrid and the Galaxy meeting in Glendale, Ariz., plus Chelsea and Inter Milan playing at Indianapolis.

Second-round matches will take place in Los Angeles and East Rutherford, N.J. on Aug. 3 and 4.

Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., will host the championship rounds on Aug. 6 and 7.
