An autopsy is scheduled today for the man found dead inside a vehicle that exploded early Tuesday morning in the VanMall neighborhood, said Vancouver Police Sgt. Kathy McNicholas.

She said that more information about the case, which police describe as isolated in nature, will be released this afternoon.

The vehicle, parked in the 9100 block of Northeast 54th Street, exploded about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police have not said what caused the explosion, nor have they released the identity of the deceased man.

McNicholas said there are no known outstanding persons of interest and no reasons to believe that there is any danger to the community in relation to this incident.
