Parks Foundation awards more than $70K

The Parks Foundation of Clark County has announced winners of the 2013 Florence B. Wager Awards for Clark County parks, trails, and recreation programs.

The following programs and projects have been awarded funds for 2013:

• Battle Ground: Summer Playground Program — $7,500.

• City of Camas Crown Park ADA Accessible Merry-Go-Round — $7,800.

• Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation Discovery Guide Printing — $3,750.

• Evergreen Park Playground Program — $15,000.

• Everybody Plays Scholarship Program — $14,000.

• City of Washougal Hartwood Park Barnyard Playground — $23,479.

The foundation began the awards in 2009 as a way to offer community grants to pay for the development of parks and recreation programs in Clark County. Since its beginning, the program has awarded $242,000.

An awards luncheon is at 11:30 a.m. June 4 at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W. Sixth St.
