ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. (AP) — Clay Millican raced to the Top Fuel qualifying lead Friday in the NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.
Millican had a run of 3.792 seconds at 321.27 mph during the second of two qualifying sessions. If the effort stands, it will be Millican’s first No. 1 qualifying position in his 155-race career.
Matt Hagan led the Funny Car field, Mike Edwards topped the Pro Stock order, and Steve Johnson led in Pro Stock Motorcycle.
Hagan powered his Dodge Charger to a 4.050 at 315.64, points leader finished at 6.545 at 210.73 in a Chevy Camaro, and Johnson had a 6.931 at 192.22 on a Suzuki.
