There will be an open house Saturday to celebrate Camas coach Charlie Hinds’ recent induction into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame for Lifetime Service.

Hinds, who started the Camas High School wrestling program in 1967 and was the head coach for the next 33 years, was honored at a ceremony on May 19.

Family members wanted to give those who were not able to attend the Hall of Fame ceremony, which was in Olympia, a chance to say hello to their old coach.

The open house will be at the Liberty Middle School gymnasium (1612 NE Garfield Street, Camas) from 1 to 4 p.m.

Camas athletes pick colleges: Tucker Boyd, a senior from Camas, has signed to run cross county and track and field at Idaho State University. Boyd was a first-team, all-league selection for the Class 4A Greater St. Helens League in cross country this fall.

Tyler Hallead, a senior with the baseball team, has announced he will pitch for Concordia University in Portland. Hallead was a second-team all-league selection this spring in the 4A Greater St. Helens League.
