NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Cappie Pondexter’s jumper with five-tenths of a second left lifted the New York Liberty to a 78-76 win over the Tulsa Shock on Friday night.

With the score tied, Pondexter caught the ball at the top of the key and dribbled to her right before pulling up just outside the lane. The ball hit almost every part of the rim before dropping in.

Tulsa had one last chance, but Glory Johnson’s layup came just after the buzzer. The officials went to the monitor to review whether the shot was good or not and ruled it came just after.

Pondexter finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Liberty (1-1).

Liz Cambage scored 22 points before injuring her ankle in overtime to lead Tulsa (0-3) while Glory Johnson added 17 points and 11 rebounds.
