Tommie Harshaw set the tone with a 92-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage, and then he scored two second-half touchdowns to lead the Hawks to victory.

“I was so pumped,” Harshaw said of the first touchdown. “I said ‘I’m going to run 100 percent on the first play, I’m going to get a touchdown.’ And that’s exactly what I did right there.”

The victory set up a three-way tie for third place in the 2A GSHL. Hockinson, Washougal and Aberdeen will meet Tuesday in Kelso for a playoff to determine the final berth to the playoffs.

Chase Duey threw two touchdown passes to Bobby Jacobs in the first half to to give Washougal a lead.

It was short-lived.

Nick Barclay tied the game on a 16-yard TD pass from Jess Krahn.

A bad snap on a Washougal punt gave Hockinson prime field position in the third quarter. Harshaw scored on a 16-yard run on the next play to give the Hawks the lead for good.
