LONDON (AP) — New IOC President Thomas Bach has convened a summit of sports leaders to consider key issues facing the Olympics.

The meeting Sunday was called without public notice and held behind closed doors at International Olympic Committee headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.

IOC spokesman Mark Adams says Bach invited “all the key representatives to discuss key issues facing the Olympic movement.”

A statement was scheduled to be released later Sunday.

The meeting underlines how quickly Bach is moving to consolidate his power since being elected as Jacques Rogge’s successor on Sept. 10 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Among those attending were three IOC vice presidents and heads of key international sports federations and national Olympic committees. U.S. Olympic Committee head Larry Probst and Russian Olympic chief Alexander Zhukov were among the attendees.
