Idaho St. dominates Evergreen St. 99-62

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Jeffrey Solarin scored 23 points while Chris Hansen added 14 to lead Idaho State to a 99-62 victory over Evergreen State on Saturday night.

Both men also collected 10 rebounds as Idaho State (1-0) outrebounded Evergreen State (1-3) of the NAIA 50-28.

Tomas Sanchez had 15 points while Evann Hall and Justin Smith each added 11 for the Bengals.

Frankie Johnson led the Geoducks with 22 points while Marc Taylor added 14 and 10 rebounds.

Solarin and Hansen combined for 16 of Idaho State’s first 23 points as the Bengals opened the game with a 23-4 run.

Johnson, who had 6 treys, scored 11 of his points when the Geoducks closed the first half on a 12-4 run, cutting the lead to 49-29.

Idaho State shot 51 percent for the game while Evergreen connected on 37 percent of its shots.
