Letter: Money can persuade and influence

The Columbian
Published: November 8, 2013, 4:00pm

Alas, it has worked out exactly as I suspected. The opposition to Initiative 522, some of the same people who opposed putting nutritional information on labels a generation ago, have bought another election by scaring people with the lie that food prices will go up. Now, we may rest comfortably knowing that the price for their toxic swill will remain unchanged (as it would have done anyway).

And, of course, we will continue to cry for our right to free health care while eating their poison.
