NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Ronald Butler threw for 167 and 2 touchdowns to lead Tennessee State to a 31-6 victory over Austin Peay Saturday.

Tim Broughton rushed 21 times for 80 yards, putting him over 1,000 yards for the season. He is only the fifth TSU player to accomplish this.

Tennessee State (7-3, 5-2 Ohio Valley Conference) held a slim 10-6 lead at the half on a Butler to Chris Sanders-McCollum 28-yard scoring pass and Jamin Godrey’s 39-yard field goal.

Chase Dunlap hit field goals of 34 and 48 yards for Austin Peay’s (0-10, 0-6) scores.

The Tigers took control in the second half as Telvin Hooks scored on a 5-yard run early in the third and added a 27-yard scoring run with 4:34 remaining in the quarter to extend their lead to 24-7. A Butler to Wesley Samuels pass late in the fourth completed the scoring.
