William & Mary comes back to beat Delaware 24-10

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Brent Caprio threw for 125 yards and two touchdowns to lead William & Mary to a 24-10 victory over Delaware Saturday.

Delaware (7-3, 4-2 Colonial Athletic Association) took a quick lead when Travis Hawkins returned the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown, setting a new school record.

That was the last lead for the Blue Hens.

William & Mary (7-3, 4-2) tied the score when Jerome Couple scooped up a fumble forced by Jared Velasquez and returned it 51 yards for the touchdown, then took the lead when John Carpenter hit a 47-yard field goal to give the Tribe a 10-7 lead with 28 seconds left in the first quarter.

The Tribe defense held Delaware to 170 total yards.

Mikal Abdual-Saboor was the work horse for William and Mary, carrying 30 times for 127 yards.

Caprio threw touchdown passes to Tre McBride and Sean Ballard in the second half.
