Stony Brook puts away Haverford 81-65

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Anthony Jackson scored a game-high 24 points, and Jameel Warney and Scott King each recorded double-doubles to help Stony Brook put away Division-III Haverford 81-65 Sunday.

The Seawolves (2-0) shot 48.4 percent from the field and used a late 18-10 run in the first half to take 39-30 advantage at half. Jackson fueled the run, scoring nine points and hitting one of his two total 3-pointers.

The Fords pulled within seven early in the second half, but Stony Brook held them to just nine points over the next nine minutes, coasting out to a 68-45 lead.

Warney finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds. King also had a double-double for the Seawolves with 11 points and 10 boards.

Brett Cohen paced Haverford with 18 points and six rebounds and Geoff Hartman added 16 points. Gibby Graves dished out nine assists and had five steals for the Fords, both game-highs.
