St. Bonaventure overwhelms Abilene Christian 75-47

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (AP) — Matthew Wright had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, as St. Bonaventure overwhelmed Abilene Christian 75-47 Monday.

Four of the five starters were in double figures for the Bonnies. Jordan Gathers had 14 points, followed by Youssou Ndoye with 12 and Charlon Kloof with 11.

St. Bonaventure (2-0) got off to a slow start making only 9 of 23 field goals in the first half. That changed in the second as they hit 48.5% from the floor.

LaDarrien Williams, who finished with 18 points, had Abilene Christian (0-2) out front 22-18 with 7:38 to go in the first. The Bonnies took the lead for good 25-24 on two Wright free throws at the 3:43 mark. The Wildcats were staying close until Gathers hit a three-point jumper at the end of the half to stretch St. Bonaventure’s lead to 33-25. St. Bonaventure dominated in the final period.
