PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Tim Duncan won’t play for the San Antonio Spurs against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night because coach Gregg Popovich is giving the three-time NBA Finals MVP a rest.

The 37-year-old Duncan had 11 points and 10 rebounds in a win at New York on Sunday. He’s averaging 13.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Boris Diaw replaced Duncan in the starting lineup.

The defending Western Conference champions are off to a 6-1 start.
