TOWSON, Md. (AP) — Jerrelle Benimon scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and Towson defeated Morgan State 95-75 on Tuesday night.

Benimon, a senior, averaged double figures in scoring and rebounding last season when he became the Tigers’ first Colonial Athletic Association player of the year. He had 20 double-doubles last season.

The Tigers rolled to their second straight easy victory to start the season after whipping Navy 72-45 last week. Their huge advantage at the line virtually accounted for the final margin. The Tigers hit 30 of 39 free throws to 11 of 21 for the Bears (0-2).

Towson grabbed the lead for good with 16 minutes left in the first half and would lead by as many as 29 in the second half.

Rafriel Guthrie scored 20 points and Jerome Hairston 12 for Towson.

Morgan State was led by Justin Black’s 28 points. Anthony Hubbard added 14 and Donte Pretlow 12.
