Ramos succeeds Reyna as USSF youth director

CHICAGO (AP) — Former American national team midfielder Tab Ramos is replacing Claudio Reyna as youth technical director of the U.S. Soccer Federation.

Ramos will remain as coach of the U.S. under-20 team, a position he has held for two years.

Reyna held the youth job for three years before leaving in May to become director of football for NYCFC, which starts play Major League Soccer in 2015.

Ramos’ appointment was announced Tuesday.
