SUNNYSIDE — Nursing home workers on Tuesday picketed a Sunnyside facility operated by a Vancouver-based company to draw attention to contract talks, according to the Yakima Herald.

Workers represented by a health care employees union picketed outside Prestige Care and Rehabilitation on Otis Avenue. The parent company, Prestige Healthcare of Vancouver, and its workers, including those at facilities in Union Gap, Sunnyside and Grandview, are in the midst of contract negotiations, according to a statement from the union, SEIU Healthcare 775 N.W.

Last year, Prestige purchased nine facilities from Kirkland-based Eagle Healthcare, including the Sunnyside and Grandview locations.
