Portland span could be named Lisa Simpson Bridge

PORTLAND — The TriMet transit agency is giving Portlanders a chance to name the new car-free bridge over the Willamette River.

Submissions are being accepted on the TriMet website until Dec. 1.

KGW reports some suggestions so far are to name the span after street musician “Working” Kirk Reeves who died about a year ago; or Abigail Scott Duniway, who fought for the right of women in Oregon to vote; or cartoon character Lisa Simpson.
