TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona running back Ka’Deem Carey has always run with a chip on his shoulder, often punishing defenders who would dare to try tackling him.

After a difficult offseason, he seems to be running even harder this season.

Carey was an All-American last season after leading the nation with 146 yards a game, but had a difficult offseason that included a domestic violence accusation that was later dropped and an incident at an Arizona basketball game.

Coach Rich Rodriguez sat Carey as punishment in Arizona’s season opener, but the junior picked up where he left off last season once he started playing.

Carey raced 58 yards for a touchdown on his first touch of the season and enters Saturday’s game against Washington State second nationally with 152 yards per game.
