Dee’s 18 leads San Diego past Morgan St, 67-61

BALTIMORE (AP) — Johnny Dee’s 18 points powered San Diego to its third straight win to start the season, knocking off Morgan State 67-61 Thursday night.

The Bears (0-3) took a one-point lead, 58-57, with 2:13 to play, but the Toreros ran off 10-straight points to put the game away, with Dee scoring a clutch field goal and adding a pair of free throws with 14 seconds remaining.

Dennis Kramer had 12 points for San Diego and both Christopher Anderson and Jito Kok each added 11 points as the Toreros hit 27 of 61 shots (44.3 percent).

Justin Black had 22 points to lead all scorers for Morgan State, which struggled from the field, shooting just 38 percent and just 10 of 21 from the free throw line.

San Diego plays at Northern Kentucky Saturday before returning home for the Gulf Coast Showcase.
