LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — Kevin Hardy scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds on Friday night and McNeese State put on an offensive show to handily defeat Louisiana College 92-88.
Ledrick Eackles scored 19 points and hit 14 of 14 free throws for the Cowboys (1-2). Adrian Fields scored 18 points, Craig McFerrin 13, and Lewis Austin 11.
The Cowboys took an 11-9 lead on a Jamaya Burr layup with 16:35 to play in the first half and never looked back, extending their lead to 22 at one point on 52.8 percent shooting from the field. The Wildcats shot just 30.6 percent from the field and were outrebounded 49-35.
Kevin Cottonham was top-scorer for the Division III Wildcats (0-2) with 22 points and eight assists. Doc Welch added 17, Anthony Gaines 13 and Kevin Lewis 11.
