Butler rolls past Morehead State 58-27

MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) — Trae Heeter rushed for 180 yards and accounted for five touchdowns as Butler pulled away from Morehead State 58-27 Saturday.

The Bulldogs (9-3, 7-1 Pioneer Football League) jumped ahead early as Heeter scored on a 28-yard pass from Matt Lancaster and had a 4-yard rushing touchdown.

Lancaster ran for two touchdowns in the second quarter and Heeter had a 3-yard touchdown in between, putting Butler ahead 34-6 at halftime.

Austin Gahafer hit Jake Raymond on a 64-yard strike and Rees Maschara scored a 43-yard rushing touchdown to pull the Eagles (3-8, 3-5) within 14 early in the third quarter.

Butler responded as Lancaster connected with Marquese Martin-Hayes on a 17-yard touchdown. Heeter scored from 21 and 2 yards out in the fourth quarter.

Lancaster threw for 306 yards and ran for 118. Heeter also had five receptions for 139 yards.

Macshara paced Morehead State with 100 yards and three scores.
