Chattanooga beats Montreat in 108-51 blowout

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Gee McGee made 6 of 7 field goals and 16 points and Chattanooga shot over 55 percent from the field in a 108-51 blowout of Montreat.

The Mocs (2-1) established an early lead and maintained it. They led 55-34 at intermission and went on a 10-point run to start the second half. Z. Mason had 15 points and 12 rebounds and regularly posted double-digit rebounds last season.

Chattanooga had five score in double figures. Alex Bran scored a career-high 13 points on the bench, Casey Jones added 12 and Martynas Bareika had 11.

La’Bris Adams posted 17 points for the Cavaliers and made 11 of 16 free-throws, though he only completed 3 of 10 field goals. Montreat shot 37.3 percent and only Adams and Melvin Irvin scored in double figures.
