Navy defeats Binghamton 68-50

BINGHAMPTON, N.Y. (AP) — Tilman Dunbar scored 17 points to help give Navy a 68-50 win over Binghamton on Saturday.

Dunbar was 7 of 10 from the floor. Will Kelly scored 12 points and Kendall Knorr had 11 points and led the team with eight rebounds. The Midshipmen (2-2) were 42 percent from the floor and hit 71 percent of their free throws.

Navy pulled ahead in the first half, leading by as many as 11 points with 7:30 left in the first, before the Bearcats (1-2) closed the gap to leave the Midshipmen with a 31-26 halftime lead. But Navy would again widen the gap on a 15-7 run to start the second period on its way to building a 20-point lead.

Jordan Reed led the Bearcats with 13 points, 14 rebounds and three steals. Binghamton was just 29 percent from the floor and hit just 11 percent from the 3-point line.
