PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Bryce Cotton scored 28 points and dished out a career-high 11 assists and undefeated Providence cruised to a 93-48 non-conference rout of winless Marist Saturday.

The win was the Friars’ 29th straight home victory over a non-conference opponent – a new school high since the formation of the Big East in 1979-80.

Kadeem Batts added 22 points and 10 rebounds and LaDontae Hinton 21 points and eight boards for the Friars (3-0). Cotton, a pre-season All-Big East pick, also had five rebounds and was 11-for-11 from the foul line.

Ty Harris added 13 points and five rebounds in the win, while Khalid Hart had 19 points for the Red Foxes (0-4), 14 in the second half.

Providence hit eight 3-pointers – three by Henton — and was 21-for-25 from the foul line, where the Friars hit their first 19 before the bench was cleared.
