EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Chants of “We want tacos!” at Michigan State basketball games are now in vain.
For years, Taco Bell locations in and around East Lansing gave out a free taco to fans with a ticket stub from a game where the Spartans scored at least 70 points. Taco Bell, however, ended the promotion this year, MLive.com reported (http://bit.ly/18P36sq ).
Michigan State associate athletic director Paul Schager says Taco Bell didn’t renew the sponsorship agreement that had been in place since 2004. The Associated Press sent a message seeking comment Wednesday from Taco Bell.
The school plans to replace the free taco promotion, Schager said, but details haven’t been finalized.
