BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Barcelona has been hit by another injury, with fullback Adriano ruled out of Tuesday’s Champions League game at Ajax.
Barcelona says the Brazilian damaged a ligament in his left ankle during the 4-0 win over Granada on Saturday and will miss the trip to Amsterdam.
But the team says midfielder Xavi Hernandez has returned to the squad after missing the Granada match because of a strained left hamstring.
The Spanish leaders are without top scorer Lionel Messi, goalkeeper Victor Valdes, forward Cristian Tello, and defenders Dani Alves and Jordi Alba, all because of injury.
