Boston blows by LIU Brooklyn 72-57

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Maurice Watson scored 16 points, joining three other Boston University players in double figures as they blew past LIU Brooklyn 72-57 at the 2K Sports Classic Sub-Regional on Sunday.

John Papale added 14 scores, Matt Thomas had 13 points and D.J. Irving netted 11 points for the Terriers in the win. Dom Morris grabbed 11 rebounds in the contest. Boston U shot a respectable 49 percent from the field, but only 29 percent from the 3-point line.

Boston University (4-2) led at the half 37-23 and LIU-Brooklyn never got any closer after being outscored 35-34 in the second half.

E.J. Reed put in 21 points and nabbed 8 rebounds for LIU Brooklyn (1-4) and Landon Atterberg added 12 points. LIU gave up 10 steals and shot only 35 percent from the field.
