MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol says he will have to be off his sprained left knee for three to four weeks before he can begin rehab.

Gasol sustained a grade two sprain of the medial collateral ligament in a game against San Antonio on Friday night. He said Monday that he will try to fast-track his return but there is no timetable until the team sees how he responds to treatment.

Some estimates have Gasol missing as much as two months. Kosta Koufos, obtained in an offseason trade with the Nuggets is expected to fill most of Gasol’s minutes.

The 7-foot-1 Spaniard ranks second on the Grizzlies in scoring rebounds and assists.
