Letter: Price rising with increasing speed

Let’s see, the national average gas price on the day President Obama took office was $1.79 and, although the average price today is well below the $4-plus range of several months ago, even the lowest price of $3.10 cited by Roy G. Wilson in a Nov. 19 letter “Where are letters of praise?” constitutes an increase of approximately 75 percent. Wilson wondered why none of the “previous angry letter writers” weren’t praising our president now that pricing has dropped to the $3.10 level, so allow me to be the first.

Thank you President Obama for allowing me to pay 75 percent more than I did before you took office. Now, shall we discuss my new health insurance cost?
