ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Bills safety Jairus Byrd has gone from being noncommittal to open-minded in softening his outlook about his future in Buffalo.
Though not ready yet to commit to a long-term contract on Tuesday, the two-time Pro Bowl player wasn’t ruling out the possibility, either.
Byrd is keeping an “open mind” about staying once the two sides are allowed to reopen contract talks this offseason.
That’s a big step forward. Three months ago, Byrd was expressing disappointment over Buffalo’s designating him its franchise player.
