INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Colts are giving linebacker Josh McNary a chance to play in the NFL.
The former Army star, who joined the Colts at training camp in August after spending the previous two years fulfilling his service commitment, was promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster Tuesday — the most prominent of a flurry of roster moves.
Indianapolis (7-4) also waived receiver David Reed and tight end Justice Cunningham, the final pick of the draft in April, and placed safety Delano Howell on injured reserve.
The moves come in the wake of Sunday’s 29-point loss at Arizona, Indy’s second blowout defeat in three weeks.
