DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Reggie Groves set a school record, hitting 10 3-pointers (10 of 13), totaling 32 points, as North Carolina Central overwhelmed Barber-Scotia 101-46 Tuesday night.

Groves broke the record held by his current coach, LeVelle Moton, who went 9-for-14 against North Carolina A&T on Jan 19, 1995, scoring 35 points.

Jeremy Ingram contributed 13 points, Alfonzo Houston added 11 and Antonin Galaya had 10 for North Carolina Central (5-1).

The Eagles opened up a 22-2 lead midway of the first period and had a dominating 61-24 lead at the half. They were 39 of 74 from the field, making 16 of 37 three-point attempts. Barber-Scotia (0-10) could not slow North Carolina Central as they were outrebounded 52 to 20. The Sabers made only 16 of 50 attempted field goals.

Carlos Benton led the Sabers with 10 points.
