Southern Illinois overwhelms Stetson 67-48

ESTERO, Fla. (AP) — Anthony Beane scored 20 points as Southern Illinois beat Stetson 67-48 in the Gulf Coast Showcase on Tuesday.

Jalen Pendleton had 12 for Southern Illinois (2-4) and the Salukis leading scorer, Desmar Jackson (23 ppg), was held to 2-of-11 shooting and finished with 10 points. Bola Olaniyan pulled down 11 rebounds, as the Salukis held a 41-21 advantage on the glass. Southern Illinois went to the free throw line 15 more times than Stetson.

Aaron Graham led the way for Stetson (0-7) with 17 points, but made just two of his eight 3-point attempts. Raymone Andrews chipped in with 12. The Hatters shot 30.9 percent from the field and did not make a field goal for the first 7 minutes after halftime. Just over 5 minutes later, Stetson had four baskets in the second half and trailed 49-37.
