LONDON (AP) — Britain’s National Crime Agency says six men have been arrested in an English soccer match-fixing investigation that focused on a suspected international betting syndicate.
The arrests follow an investigation by the Daily Telegraph newspaper, which says at least three of the arrested men are soccer players.
The NCA confirmed that “six men have been arrested across the country as part of an NCA investigation into alleged football match fixing. The focus of the operation is a suspected international illegal betting syndicate.”
The NCA says it working with the Gambling Commission and the English Football Association.
