MARYSVILLE — Marysville police say officers have found two brothers, ages 2 and 3, who were thought to be in danger when they were taken by their mother, who is considered unfit.

Police say tips generated by media coverage helped officers locate the boys Wednesday in south Everett. They were taken into protective custody.

Police say the publicity also put pressure on the mother who fled before officers arrived. The 30-year-old woman had recently been released from the Snohomish County Jail and took the boys Sunday after a visit with their grandmother, who is their guardian.

The Department of Social and Health Services deemed the mother unfit because she is homeless and depends on drugs.
