CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — As Steve Smith continues to vault past Hall of Fame players in the NFL record book, the Panthers’ fiery 34-year-old wide receiver says he has no plans to slow down soon.

Smith says his goal is to catch 1,000 passes and “get close to” 14,000 yards receiving for his career, which would leave him in the top 10 in NFL history in both categories.

Smith says “That’s what I want. I want to be in the top 10.”

It might take a couple of more seasons but Smith says that’s fine. He remains productive and thinks he has a few good years left.

Now in his 13th season, Smith ranks 22nd with 12,033 yards receiving and 25th in receptions with 823.
