CASCADES PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH will hold a Circle of Hope at Christmas service at 3 p.m. The service is especially for people who have experienced grief or a loss whether of a loved one, a beloved pet or a job, or the loss of mobility or independence or other reasons. Cascades hopes the service may help those attending to rediscover the joy of the season. The church is at 9503 N.E. 86th St. 360-892-6613.

FESTIVAL OF THE NATIVITIES, noon to 9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10509 S.E. Fifth St., Vancouver. More than 600 creches will be on display. There will also be live music, children's activities and live nativity performances at 6 and 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Free. www.festivalofnativities.org.
