Under less-than-ideal conditions, Camas senior Braeden Campbell had the perfect round of golf Tuesday at Camas Meadows.

Campbell only needed nine putts to get through his nine-hole round and finished with three birdies and an eagle to shoot a 5-under-par 31.

“That tied our lowest score ever for Camas golf,” Camas golf coach Ed Givens said. “(Brian) Humphreys shot a 31 last year at Green Mountain. But that was on a nice, perfect day. But it has been raining forever and there was zero roll on Tuesday. But he just couldn’t miss. I watched him putt three of the last four holes. On one, he had a 20-foot snake and he just drained it.”

Campbell’s round helped Camas roll to a 144-177 victory over Hudson’s Bay.

“It was a kid playing his heart out on such a lousy day,” Givens said.
