The search for a Portland man who went missing while hiking in Skamania County over the weekend is in its fourth day.

Forty-one volunteers are searching on foot today with the help of crews in two vehicles and four canine teams in search of Kristopher Zitzewitz, 31, of Portland.

Zitzewitz went hiking with his partner, Caleb Richie of Portland, when they became separated about 2 p.m. Saturday in the Big Lava Beds area of Gifford Pinchot National Forest, 10 miles north of the city of Cook, according to the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office.

The search is based at the Goose Lake Campground.
